Frog
Frogs also lay large number of eggs in
water. These eggs look like a huge bunch
of jelly-like fluid which is known as Eggs (Spawn) Tadpole
spawn. These eggs hatch and develop LIFE CYCLE
into tadpoles. Tadpoles are extremely OF A FROG
different in appearance as compared to Tadpole
an adult frog. The change of tadpole to an with legs
adult is called metamorphosis. After
metamorphosis, the tadpole becomes an
adult frog. Adult Frog Young Frog
Butterfly
Butterflies have a unique way of
reproduction. They lay their eggs on a leaf.
Eggs Catterpiller The larva, a small worm-like creature, comes
LIFE CYCLE out from the egg known as caterpillar.
OF A BUTTERFLY The larva eats plenty of leaves for growth
and develops a protective covering around
itself. It is called a pupa. The pupa sheds its
skin several times and this process is called
moulting. The adult butterfly breaks free
from the pupa.

Factual Study
• The global egg industry destroys 6,000,000,000 newborn male chicks every year.
• Newborn chicks are more intelligent, alert and aware of their environment than
human toddlers.

Cockroaches and Grasshoppers
There are three main stages in the life cycle of Egg
cockroaches and grasshoppers. First stage is
LIFE CYCLE
the formation of nymph, i.e., the larva comes OF A GRASSHOPPERS
out when the eggs hatch. They resemble a lot Nymph
to their parents. After the process of moulting
several times, they develop into adults.
