S aving Trees SAVE US

Trees are very important for
us, so we should not destroy

them. They take many years to
grow. They protect us from the
exposure of sun and wind.

Some ways to save trees and
keep the earth green are:

1. Plant trees in large numbers. Planting of a large number of trees on a barren

land is called afforestation.

2. We should use the products which we get from trees wisely.

3. Use electricity wisely.

4. Choose paperless options for bills and ask for ebills.

5. Encourage refuse, reuse and recycle.

6. Share your love for trees and forests with other people.

We should educate people to organise programmes like Van Mahotsava. We should

tell people about the good and bad effects of cutting trees.

The United Nations established the World Environment Day in 1972. Every
year, it is celebrated on June 5 in many countries. The Earth anthem was also

inaugurated in 2013. On this day, people are encouraged and taught to save trees
to protect living beings from the adverse effects on nature.
